Irate locals ransacked the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here alleging negligence in treatment, after an injured police constable admitted in the hospital following an accident died on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Goutam Gouda of Hinjili area. He met with an accident in Brahmapur and was rushed to the hospital’s causality ward with head injury.
But no doctors were available at that time at the Causality thereby delaying his treatment. After a few minutes, the patient succumbed to his injuries.
Enraged over his death, relatives and villagers ransacked the hospital demanding action against the doctors. The Ganjam Collector, the SP and senior officials of the administration rushed to the spot and managed to pacify the people.
