A two-and-a-half-year-old male child who had been allegedly missing from Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital [DHH] five days ago was rescued by police on Sunday. The child was rescued from Biswanathpur village under Baragola Panchayat in Raghunathpur block, while abductor was identified as Ganesh Mallick , a married man, and daily labourer by profession. Reports said child had been staying with his grandmother Chandrama Swain in the DHH premises. On August 18 the child had gone missing from DHH. Her grandmother Chandrama lodged an FIR in Jagatsinghpur police station. Acting on complaint Jagatsinghpur SP Akheleshvar Singh acted promptly and formed a special police team to search child. The team had examined CCTV footages of DHH and raided several locations in Erasama, Tirtol, Balikuda and Kendrapada.
