A 14-year-old girl was raped several times and impregnated by a 65-year-old man in the Aul police station area in Kendrapada district.
The matter came to the fore after the victim’s father lodged an FIR on Thursday with the Aul police.
According to police sources, the victim’s father in his complaint alleged that one Rajib Mallick alias Chotta raped his daughter several times by threatening her.
When the family members questioned the victim, seeing the change in her physique and behaviour, she disclosed the matter. Later, after doing ultrasound they ascertained that she was seven months pregnant. Following which, they decided to approach police.
The Aul police have registered a case under various sections of the IPC and POCSO Act and started an inquiry. Meanwhile, the accused was absconding and a hunt was on to nab him, police said.
