After rescuing a minor girl, the police arrested two youths on Friday and forwarded them to court allegedly for planning to traffic the minor girl from Sundargarh to New Delhi.

The accused had locked the minor girl inside a room for two days and were not giving her food and torturing her. The rescued girl was kept in a shelter home at Sundargarh.

Sources said the 12- year-old victim girl was residing with her parents, three sisters and two brothers at lohardipa under Town police station in Sundargarh. Her father is a rickshaw driver. A Chhattisgarh youth, identified as Surya Bhoi, was also residing nearby their house. On April 24 morning, while she was playing outside her house, Bhoi and one Dharma Singh Ekka, a resident of Alapaka under Kinjrikela police station in Sundargarh, lured her to Alapaka. After reaching there, they kept her inside a room of the house of Ekka. They did not give her food to eat and gave her a container to urinate. She had been locked in that room .  Both Bhoi and Ekka allegedly told her that they would take her to New Delhi and she would get good salary there. They also threatened her that if she revealed this to anyone, they would kill her.

On April 26, Bhoi and Ekka had gone to Jharsuguda to book train ticket to take her to New Delhi. During the time, hearing the victim girl cry, a woman of Nandini SHG could come to know that she was locked in room and on asking her from outside, she could know about her ordeal. Soon, she informed the Kinjrikela police who rescued the girl.

On Thursday night, while both Bhoi and Ekka  were trying to flee, the Town police nabbed them.
