Min seeks report from CHSE in 2 weeks

After gross mismanagement in the Plus Two examination that saw distribution of Chemistry question papers in place of Mathematics on Tuesday, School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra on Wednesday ordered the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Examination Controller to investigate into the matter and submit a reportwithin two weeks.

Mishra said the Examination Controller would visit the printing press where the question papers were printed and packed. If the press is found to have committed the blunder and found guilty, it would be blacklisted. The alleged conspiracy angle behind the incident would also come under the purview of the investigation, he said.

The CHSE authorities solely blamed the printing press for the blunder. Examination Controller Biranchi Narayan Mishra said the press looks into the printing and packaging of the question papers. The same packages are despatched to the examination centres.

Chemistry question papers of the subject were ‘mistakenly’ dispatched to several examination centres in the State instead of Mathematics, leading to chaos among the examinees. The examination was delayed by about an hour due to the problem.
