A middle-age Telugu-speaking man  was found dead in his rented house at Kuttagali under the lalbagh police station here on Saturday afternoon. The fact that the body was found in a pool of blood with multiple injuries led to the suspicion that the youth, who stayed alone in the house, was murdered brutally.

The deteriorating law and order situation in the city further worsened and became a cause of concern after the news spread that miscreants have committed the murder entering into someone’s house in broad daylight.

The man was identified as Subash Rao (30). While the police suspected the murder to be an outcome of a previous rivalry, the locals from the same community gheraoed the lalbagh police station demanding immediate arrest of the perpetrators of the crime.

According to locals, the man was threatened by a group of local youth belonging to a minority community after he had objected to the illegal and obscene activities of the group.

Sources said Subash had asked the youth to desist from consuming drugs and liquor on the varandah in front of his rented house. The youth also under the influence of drugs and liquor reportedly passes lewd comments at women of the area. “The unfortunate incident of murder of the man could be due to his moral policing,” said Telugus of the area, who have demanded immediate arrest of the murderers.
