The Odisha Society of Extension Education organised a national symposium on “Capacity Building for Extension Professionals: Mean & Ways” in the Directorate of Extension Education, OUAT here on Saturday.
Society president Dr Chakradhara Satapathy highlighted the need and responsibilities of extension professional in the technology transfer system. For development of agriculture and rural economy a spirited effort of the extension professional is highly essential, he opined.
In his inaugural address, Dean, Extension Education, OUAT, Dr Prasannajit Mishra gave an overview of the revitalised extension system operating in the country. He stressed upon use of appropriate methodology and high-end technologies while transferring agri technologies by scientists and extension professionals.
Former Dean, Extension Education and Eminent Extension Scientist Dr Santosh Kumar Rout, Prof Aditya Prasad Kanungo, Dr Pitambar Swain, Head of the Department, Veterinary Extension Education; Dr Pradeep Kumar Banerjee, Professor, Dept of Extension Education; and Dr Anshuman Jena, Associate Professor, SOA, presented concept notes relating to different dimensions of capacity building for extension professionals.
At the outset, Head of Department, Extension Education Dr Bibhuti Prasad Mohapatra briefed the objectives of the symposium.
