The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought an action taken report (ATR) from the Dhenkanal Collector and Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) over no medical facilities to a person having health insurance card within four weeks.
According to complainant Human Rights Watch secretary Sangita Swain, the victim Karanju Behera did not get medical facility in spite of having health insurance card provided by the Govt for free medical facility. The complainant urged the commission to take immediate step to provide medical facility to the victim, besides praying the apex human rights body to initiate criminal proceeding against the concerned public authorities.
