A medical team from the State visited the nursing home at Sri Aurobinda Ashram in Puducherry on Tuesday to examine the health condition of veteran litterateur Manoj Das, who has been undergoing treatment there since last three months.
The team headed by Dr Biranchi Narayan Mohapatra, Professor of Medicine and Dean and Principal of Shri Jagannath Medical College in Puri, would submit a report to the State Government on Das’ health. Das is undergoing treatment due to old age-related ailments. Earlier, he had suffered fracture in one of his hands. The Union Ministry of Health has also formed a four-member team of doctors from the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) at Puducherry for Das’ treatment.
