Tension mounted after an accidental death of a security guard engaged in the Samaleswari opencast mine of the MCL in Brajrajnagar on Monday morning.
Police said the security guard had been seriously injured while coming across a big pipe on the road while returning home from duty.
He was immediately taken to the Central Hospital by locals. But inspite of the best efforts by doctors, he succumbed to his injuries. Getting his death news, co-workers and family members gathered at the hospital and demanded financial compensation and a job to the deceased’s family members.
GM Ib valley area manager MS Sharma assured Rs 5.74 lakh as compensation and a job to the deceased’s wife besides Rs 50,000 for performing his last rites and Rs 10,000 from the Red Cross fund.
