The Mayurbhanj unit of the BJP on Saturday held a meeting of the district office-bearers, block unit presidents and aspiring candidates in view of the upcoming three-tier panchayat polls.

It was unanimously decided in the meeting that all the party candidates, with a massive show of strength, will file their nomination papers in the offices of the Sub-Collectors of the district on January 16 and 17.

The process of finalisation of the names of candidates is almost complete and the party will go to the polls in a big way, the party leaders announced at the end of the meeting.

BJP State vice-president and former MlA Bishnu Sethy, who is also the party in-charge for Mayurbhanj, called upon the party workers to leave no stone unturned to ensure a grand victory for the Saffron Brigade in the tribal district.

The meeting was presided over by BJP district president Krushna Chandra Mohapatra and was attended by former MlAs Kandra Soren, Bhaskar Madhei, Purusottam Naik and party vice-president Rajkishor Das, among others.
