Mayurbhanj tour: Guv meets tribal students

PNS

Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal recently came on a two-day tour of Mayurbhanj, during which he attended a series of  social functions across the district.

During his itinerary, he exhorted the students to work for a new, pollution-free India.

Lal came to Mayurbhanj on Friday and concluded his two-day visit on Saturday. While he visited Ekalavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) of Dhanghera and Bangriposi  on the first day, he, on the second day,  he went to Ekalavya Model Residential School of Karanjia. He was accompanied everywhere by Mayurbhanj Collector Vineet Bharadwaj, Mayurbhanj SP Smith Purusottam Das Parmar and other senior officials of the district.

While he interacted  with the tribal students of EMRS of Dhanghera in Khunta Block and EMRS of Shyamsundarpur in Bangriposi Block in a very affable and affectionate manner on Friday, he, on Saturday,  gave an inspirational speech at the special function organized at EMRS of Tato in Karanjia sub-division.  In all these programmes, the Prof Lal urged the simple tribal students to cultivate confidence in themselves, have faith in Lord Jagannath, do something worthwhile for the society at large and work towards building a new, clean, green and pollution-free India. He also appealed to one and all to imbibe the spirit of truth, non-violence, peace and cleanliness, which, he felt, would be a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, whose 150-th birth anniversary celebrations are on throughout the country as well as the world.

He garlanded the statues of heroes of the land and planted saplings at different places.
