PNS

Director General of Police KB Singh on Saturday reviewed Maoist activities and law and order situation in general in four ultra-hit districts Kalahandi, Nuapada, Balangir and Nabarangpur and said the Red rebels no more enjoy the support of local people in these districts.

“There is no local support for the Maoists in these four districts. Maoist activities are under control and police are working well,” said he, adding that a strict vigil has been kept on a few ultras, who are active in these areas.

Maintaining that the number of Special Operation Group (SOG) personnel has been hiked in the four districts to check Maoist activities, the DGP said search operations are being carried out after getting specific intelligence inputs.

Intelligence Director Sunil Roy, Additional Director Arun Sarangi, South-Western Range DIG S Saini and Superintendents of Police (SPs) of the four districts attended the review meeting.
