Maoists call bandh on Jan 8, leave posters in Nuapada

PNS

Triggering panic among people, Maoists posted several posters on the walls and doors of houses at Sarajanga village in Nuapada district on Monday.

This has come a day after the Red rebels burned seven vehicles used for road construction at the nearby Sirigidi village. A group of armed Maoists had attacked a contractor’s camp at Sirigiri and torched the vehicles.

The poster campaign might be an attempt to increase the Maoists’ base and strengthen their followers, according to police sources.

Meanwhile, the Odisha State Committee of CPI(Maoist) has called for an Odisha and Chhattisgarh Bandh on January 8, according to reports.
