BADAl TAH S

Maoist leader Umakant, who is secretary of the Basadhara-Ghumusar-Nagavali Division of the banned outfit, released an audio tape warning the State Government, the BJD leaders, MLA Rajib Patra of Baliguda and other Hindu fascist organisations including the Sangh Paivar for anti-people activities.

He dubbed the anti-Maoist operations of the security forces as unconstitutional and suppression of a struggle for rights by the Adibasis, Dalits and other weaker sections of the society.

He raised the issue of indiscriminate arrest and torturing by police of the Dangaria Kandha tribals of Niyamagiri on the pretext of being Maoists. The Government has failed to curb illiteracy, unemployment, malnutrition and poverty in general in spite of independence for last seventy two years, he said.

Neatly- typed posters by Odisha State CPI(Maoist) on the walls of Gram Panchayat(GP) office, Office of Dangaria Kandha Development Agency(DKDA), trees and other places of Parsali village in Niyamagiri hills, a hotbed of Red corridor, were also witnessed, urging the public to observe ‘Resistance Week’ from December 6 to 12.

The Maoists through the posters gave a call to resist communalism in the name of religion, attack on Muslims, Christians, Dalits and Adivasis in the name of “Gorakshya” and yatra by Mohan Bhagawat and Prabin Togadia for the construction of Ram temple by promulgation a special Act.

“Check Modi Government -Sangh Parivar’s agenda, thereby keeping communal harmony in the country and protest the move to curb reservation for weaker sections of society and attack on journalists, writers, progressive writers, human right defenders, students, etc.,” said the posters.

They also mentioned to protest the Sangh Parivar’s agenda on food, dress, love and women.
