Several political leaders and prominent persons of the district have gone self home quarantine after BJP MLA of Nilgiri Sukanta Nayak was detected as Corona positive .
The leaders who have gone self quarantine included the Union minister Pratap Chandra Sarangi, former MP RK Jena , former Minister Raghunath Mohanty , MLA Remuna Sudhansu Sekhar Parida, former MLA Gobinda Das, former MLA JP Dash and many others.
In fact , these leaders had attended the condolence meeting of MLA MM Dutta which was held recently. It is suspected that they had come in contact with Nayak .
Nayak , with no certain travel history, although he went to Bhubaneswar , has been admitted in the Covid hospital here following detection.
Nayak admitted that he attended several meetings and gatherings in his constituency and had come in contact with scores of people during distribution of masks, sanitizers and other materials .
Nayak had visited the office of the district Collector as well as District Education Officer. These buildings were sanitized by the district administration.
In the meanwhile as per latest report as many as 28 new positive cases including four local cases , 15 home quarantine and nine from TMC have been detected in the district.
