large-scale corruption in implementation of the Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) in every village of Gajapati district would come to fore if the district administration conducts an inquiry into the details of the beneficiaries available on the websites of various blocks.
This has been challenged by some eligible IAY beneficiaries of the district, who are yet to avail the benefits.
They further alleged that an analysis on implementation of the IAY and the Biju Pucca Ghara Yojana in the district would expose that rich people have managed to avail the benefits of the schemes rather than eligible poor people.
“While many ineligible persons have got their houses under the Government schemes, no steps have been taken up to identify them and take action against them yet,” said one of the left out beneficiaries.
Adding to the woes, some Dalals are duping gullible beneficiaries of Rs5,000 to Rs10,000 on the pretext of constructing houses, he added.
