A joint eviction squad demolished encroachments from roadside starting from NH-5 to Kanpur under the Mancheswar police station on Thursday. The eviction team consisting of staffs from the BDA, BMC, EE (R and B) Division-IV and Commissionerate Police razed about 19 AC-sheeted houses, two RCC houses, a RCC Puja Mandap and six boundary walls.
Three platoons of gents APR Force and a section lady force were engaged to maintain law and order during the demolition. BDA Enforcement Officer Pramod Patro, liasioning Officer Subhransu Sekhar Mohanty, SCP RK Satapathy and Mancheswar IIC HB Swain were present, among others.
