People from different walks of life under the banner of Bhubaneswar Nagarika Manch on Thursday decided to protest the threat of Kalinga Sena that it would video record the act of youths on the Valentine’s Day at parks, shopping malls and other places.

“The threat of Kalinga Sena is an attack on personal right. A few days ago, the activists of Justice for Women took off the scarf of girls from their face on streets. Such acts are not accepted in a democratic country,” said Manch convenor Narendra Mohanty here at meeting.

Stating that nobody has the right to intervene another’s personal freedom, Mohanty stated that the Manch has submitted memorandums to the Commissioner of Police and Home Secretary seeking their intervention.

He further charged that the Kalinga Sena and Justice for Women are functioning at the behest of the RSS, the Bajarang Dal, the Durgabahini and the Bharat Rakshya Manch. CPI (M) leader Mahendra Parida, women leader Nitu Chakia and CPI (Ml) leader Radhakant Sethy attended the meeting at the Master Canteen square.
