An unidentified man’s hands had been tied to an electric pole near the Mahanadi here without the barbaric act being noticed by anyone for three to four days.
Fishermen came across the victim in a shocking condition on Friday night and informed the police. The man was admitted to the Sonepur hospital, where he is being given primary healthcare.
The man is unable to speak; therefore, the police are finding it difficult to ascertain his credentials.
Birmaharajpur Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Bhabani Shankar Udgata said a joint operation by fire brigade and police rescued the man.
He is in a poor state of health and unable speak. After he recovers, police would be able to know more details of the incident.
