An incident has come to light in which a man was assaulted by locals after he allegedly tried to kidnap his ex-wife from his in-laws’ house at Rasulgarh in the city.
According to sources, the couple had come in contact with each other on Instagram in 2020 and married in 2021. However, their relationship soured and they applied for divorce in August 2021 and started living separately.
In June 2022, the man asked his wife to reconcile their relationship and start staying together again. However, the woman sought some time to decide.
Meanwhile, the accused went to his wife’s house on Friday in Rasulgarh’s Sabarsahi with some of his friends and tried to kidnap her. However, his wife resisted the kidnap bid by the husband and hit him with a stone pestle.
On the other hand, the man also attacked the woman with a knife.
On hearing the commotion, her neighbours and some locals rushed to her rescue and thrashed the accused severely before handing him over to police.
The woman has lodged a complaint regarding the incident with the Manchewar police.
