A man and his son died of electrocution in their house near the Vedvyas Temple road under the Brahmani Tarang police limits in Rourkela on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Satyanarayan Saha and his son Sanjay. Satyanarayan received electric shock while being in contact with water that had gushed into his house after incessant rains.
While Satyanarayan collapsed on the spot, his son also died of electrocution as he rushed to the spot in a bid to save his father.
On being informed, police reached the spot and recovered the bodies for postmortem. A pall of gloom descended on the locality following the tragic incident.
