Manashi Mallick (27), mother of two children, was hacked to death with a chopper by her spouse over past family feud at Andalo village under the Patkura police station on Wednesday.
Accused Pradip Mallick was absconding.
According to sources, deceased Manashi had married Pradip 12 years back. last year, Pradip allegedly attacked her with a spade over a family feud. later, Manashi lodged an FIR at the Patkura police station which made Pradip angry. Manashi had been staying with her two children at her father’s house in Birijanga village since then.
On Wednesday, while Manasi was grazing goats at a field in neighbouring Baruna village, when Pradip in an inebriated mood went there and started an altercation with her. later, in a fit of rage, he attacked Manashi with a chopper and killed her.
On a tip-off, Patkura police led by its IIC rushed to the spot and seized the body and sent it for autopsy to District Headquarters Hospital on Wednesday night. A haunt is on to nab the accused, stated police.
