In a shocking incident, a man allegedly hacked his father and brother to death following an altercation between them over a property dispute in Balangir district on Sunday morning. According to reports, the accused Santosh Dalai had a heated argument with his younger brother Somnath at Dhulusar village near Chudapali under the Sadar police station limits here which turned ugly. When his father intervened in the matter, he attacked the duo with a sharp weapon, killing them on the spot.
The deceased were Gopi Dalai (68) and his son Somnath (26). The bodies were recovered and sent for postmortem. Police nabbed Santosh Dalai and are interrogating him.The preliminary investigation revealed that the double murder was an outcome of a property dispute between them. The Sadar police personnel and the SDPO reached the spot for further investigation, the sources added.
