A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her uncle in Rajkanika of the district on April 24. The matter came to limelight after the family members of the victim lodged an FIR at the Rajkanika police station on Sunday.
Police on Monday arrested the accused, who happens to be the girl’s paternal uncle, on the basis of a complaint lodged by her parents. Sources said when the girl was alone in her house; the accused came, took her to a nearby bamboo bush and raped her. Her mother has alleged that the accused is threatening them to settle the matter without involving police.
“I had gone to a grocery shop leaving my daughter with my mother-in-law. In the meantime, her uncle took her daughter to a bamboo bush and raped her,” said the mother of the rape victim.
