In a tragic incident in the midst of floods following incessant rains for last three days, a man and his son went missing in the river Brahmani in Jajpur district on Wednesday.
They were going to bring their cows from a river island at Swainkhand village under Bari block. They were feared to have been washed away by powerful river currents. Authorities initiated search operations to find their bodies. The missing persons were identified as Kishor Singh and his son Kailash Singh of village Gangadharpur, said Bari Tehsildar Manas Bhoi. The floods have so far claimed six lives in the State, the maximum three reported from Kendrapada district. As many as 24 of the State’s 30 districts have been affected by the floods, according to official reports.
