The Ravenshaw University here was again embroiled in controversy when a male teacher alleged that he was slapped by a woman colleague of the same department. The female teacher on the other hand alleged that she was physically hurt and showed obscene gestures by the male teacher.
The university’s Hindi Department Coordinator Abhishek Sharma complained to the Vice-Chancellor alleging that he was slapped by Associate Professor Anjuman Ara without any provocation. Meanwhile Anjuman Ara filed a police complaint at the Mahila police station here alleging that Sharma had been physically and mentally harassing her for past several months.
“The Vice-Chancellor has constituted a committee to look into the allegations of both the teachers. On the basis of the findings of the committee, the authorities will take action as per law,” informed university Registrar Maheswar Agasti.
