The Utkal Sammilani central committee on Wednesday demanded installation of a statue of Utkal Gaurab Madhusudan Das in the Parliament premises. “Madhubabu contributed immensely for the formation of the separate Odisha State and preserved the pride of millions of Odias. Since Mahatma Gandhi projected Madhubabu as his path finder it is important to install a statue of the great hero at the Parliament with full honour,” said Sammilani Central committee general secretary Dr Radhanath Praharaj in a meeting after garlanding the statue of the barrister on his 81st death anniversary. Among others, Khetrabasi Samantara, Sammilani Bhubaneswar branch president Tapas Ranjan Mishra also garlanded the statue of Madhubabu near Raj Bhavan and later organsied a meeting to remember his sacrifice for the State and the country.
