Cyclists from Malkangiri took 25 days covering more than 1,200 km all the way to Bhubaneswar to meet CM Naveen Patnaik in person and get their grievances redressed.
Their demands were mainly to improve education and healthcare services across the regions, especially in inaccessible areas. The cyclists reached the Chief Minister’s Grievances Cell and submitted their block-wise issues. However, they were unhappy that they could not meet the CM. Anjan Pradhan led the cycle rally.
The cyclists on their way to Bhubaneswar also organised signature campaigns, awareness meeting and mobilised more than 10 lakh people about their rights and entitlements.
Later, they all joined the culminating event of a month-long campaign organised by people’s collectives, the Odisha Shramajeebee Mancha and the Mahila Shramajeebee Manch, Odisha. Rayagada MLA Makaranda Muduli graced the occasion as guest.
