For the first time, young students breaking taboos would be seen talking about sexuality and sexual health issues, thanks to an innovative initiative of the love Matters India.
They will be doing it through music, sports, arts and dialogue and addressing important issues concerning the youths.
The first-ever Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Conclave would be held here on September 21, which promises participation of more than 10,000 young students through online and offline activities.
The love Matters Conclave 2016 aims to engage youths and students 16-24 years on the importance of comprehensive sex education and accessibility of SRHR information and services.
The love Matters, a globally-recognised initiative, would hold the conclave at the KIIT University in partnership with Masterpeace India, which is also a part of the Global Grassroots Movement.
A panel consisting of eminent activists from across the country working on sexual health and rights would engage the young minds in discussion, said love Matters India head Vithika Yadav.
She said that prioritising youth-focused programmes and engaging young people in SRHR is critical to making progress toward the Family Planning 2020 Goal.
She said this congregation is hosted to engage with young people on a large scale and break taboos and open up conversations around sexuality and sexual health issues.
Masterpeace India head Dr Manoranjan Mishra said organising such a conclave is very tough task. However, changing the mindsets of the youths in the society especially in sex and sexual health matters is important.
In order to engage the participants after the panel discussion, rock pop and Bollywood singer Jubin Nautiyal would present a musical night at the conclave.
