loot bid in Remuna BoI bank fails

PNS

A probe has been initiated by the Remuna police after an abortive attempt made by miscreants to loot a nationalised bank at Remuna late on Wednesday night.

The miscreants, after opening the grill gate of the Bank of India (BoI) branch by using gas cutters, also cut the locks of two doors. Yet, they failed to take the cash as they couldn’t succeed in cutting the chest. The armed security guard of the bank had remained on duty from 10 am to 5 pm. The incident came to light when the staffs went to the bank on Thursday. They found the doors open and the furniture in haphazard manner.

As the security guard keeps his arm in the bank, it was found missing. However, the gun along with six cartridges were found in the bank premises at another place in afternoon. A scientific team along with a sniffer dog went to the site and the dog gave a lead towards an open paddy field, where the broken locks were spotted. No breakthrough in the investigation was achieved by the police yet.
