Some locals of Madhapur in Nayagarh district looted ganja from a car, which was illegally transporting it, after it got punctured on the wee hours of Tuesday.
Sources said that the car got punctured near the Madhapur Panchayat office on the Daspalla-Kalpathar road and the driver abandoned the car on the highway and fled from the spot.
Getting information about that ganja was transported in the car some locals rushed to the spot and looted sacks of ganja worth lakhs of rupees.
While huge quantities of ganja are being seized by the excise officials, it has raised many eyebrows that the local police and excise officials did not have any information about the smuggling of ganja.
