The Sohela police on Friday recovered 14,250 country-made liquor pouches worth Rs2 lakh and 13 bottles of foreign liquor from BJD candidate for Bhatli Assembly constituency and sitting MlA Sushanta Singh’s native Bausenmora village in Bargarh district.

The liquor pouches were seized from a locked up room at the RWSS pump house in the village. No one has been arrested in this connection and further investigation is going on, said Sohela PS IIC Josabanta Samal.Meanwhile, some local people have expressed unhappiness over the liquor pouches found in Singh’s village.

“The liquor were certainly brought for distribution among people during the election campaigning. This indicates how the BJD Government is concerned to make Odisha a non-corrupt and violence-free State,” they said.
