lightning claims one life at Kodia village under Chandankiyari block in Bokaro district last night. The deceased was identified as Gunadhar Sahis (36), who died after lightning struck, police said and added that “body has been sent for post-mortem”.
According to the eyewitness, it was raining and Gunadhar went to graze his pets in the field, lightning occurred and struck on him and “he died on the spot”, added the eyewitness. later, land and Revenue Minister Amar Bauri, BDO Pramod Ram along with other officials rushed to the victim’s house where they assured the next of the kin of the deceased for a compensation of Rs 4 lakhs within 24 hours from disaster relief fund.
