For a few decades, these Kanwar Yatra carrying the water and walking barefooted for miles just as a religious practice has not gone on well with our secular and sophisticated Indians! Had it been from some other religion then they would have got protection from the State as well as the Central Governments, but alas! they wear saffron dress and there lies the problem.
A country with 80% Hindus hate these Siva Bhakts for no fault of theirs.
Every year, they get killed by trucks and cars, but no one gives them compensation.

let a law be formulated on the Kanwarias’ activities by the respective State Governments. let’s not hate them because they are Hindu!
