Lawyers of Nabarangpur district would refrain from all sorts of court work except urgent matters till September in view of steeply rising Covid-19 positive cases in the district and the administration having put several areas under containment and buffer zones, for which free movement is not possible.
Lockdown is in force from 2 pm every day along with two days’ weekend shutdown.
As vehicular movement is halted, litigant public have no other options left except to stay home. Hotels and restaurants are closed down.
Considering the gravity of the situation, all the bar associations of the district have resolved not to take part in the regular businesses of the courts except urgent matters, said Jhadeswar Mohanty, a senior member of the Umarkote Bar Association.
