Demanding a judicial probe into the Kendrapada turmoil erupting over the controversy surrounding Sarathi Baba, the Odisha High Court Bar Association on Friday decided to observe a “symbolic protest” on Monday. lawyers across the State also decided to abstain from the courts on the day.
“A fact-finding team of the Bar Association will visit Kendrapada on Monday, and basing on its report further course of action will be decided at a general body meeting on Monday afternoon,” said High Court Bar Association secretary Bijay Kumar Ragad. Condemning the use of brute police force on general public and particularly on a lawyer in Kendrapada, Ragad said the now-transferred district SP Satish Gojbhaya should be placed under suspension.
