The students of the five-year integrated course in Law (BBLLB) of Ganjam Law College, Brahmapur, gheraoed the Berhampur University Registrar and Controller of Examinations on Monday alleging irregularity in managing examination and repeated delay in publication of results.
The students alleged that the dictatorial and arbitrary attitude of the university authorities has affected effective and timely publication of results.
They alleged that there is repeated delays and irregularities in publication of BBLLB examination results of Ganjam Law College for last two years to which the university authorities paid deaf ears.
Mention may be made that the students who were admitted in to the five years integrated BBLLB course during the academic session 2015-16 are going to complete their course in 2020. Even though, there is hardly one year left to complete the course, the university has conducted examinations only for five semesters instead of eight, out of which the university so far has published the results of the first three semesters for which the future of the students is at a stake.
While one year has already been elapsed by conducting 4th semester examination, the 5th semester examination is going to complete more than seven months, but the university is not able to publish their results in time and no one is made accountable for such lapses, they alleged.
Instead of solving the problem of the students, the mud-throwing game continues between the college and university authorities in which the innocent students are the victims of their foul play, the students complained.
Before the end of the academic session in 2020, if the university fails to publish the examination results of all the semesters in time, the students will be forced to intensify their agitation, they cautioned.
Protesting the irregularity and abnormal delay in publication of semester examination results, the students of Ganjam Law College submitted a memorandum addressed to the Vice-Chancellor of Berhampur University Prof Rajendra Prasad Das. Registrar Ranjan Biswal and the I/C of the Controller of Examinations Dr Sidhartha Sankar Panda pacified the agitating students and brought the situation under control.
Within three days, the results of the 4th, 6th and 8th semester examinations would be published and within a week time, the date for process of filling the form for the remaining semesters would be notified, assured CoE Dr Panda.
