The BJP Mahila Morcha on Monday gheraoed the house of Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Bijayshree Routray and burnt his effigy for “fraudulently” acquiring a plot at Kharavel Nagar in the city and not acting against persons involved in the land grab case at Ghangapatna.
The Morcha also demanded arrest of Routray for misbehaving with a lady journalist at his chamber.
BJP Mahila Morcha State president Simantini Jena said the Minister has been using the land, which was allocated to his wife to run a nursing home, for residential purpose. Besides, Jena said, “The Minister is shielding the ruling politicians involved in the land grabbing at Ghangapatna.”
