Subash Chandra Sethia, OAS (I), land Acquisition Officer, Bargarh and Balistha Mahananda, Process Server of land Acquisition Office, Bargarh were arrested by the Vigilance police on the charge of taking bribe of Rs 2 lakh on Tuesday.
Balistha Mahananda was caught red-handed by Vigilance officers near the playground of the George High School, Bargarh when counting the bribe amount taken from one leheru Meher of village Sohela. The bribe had been demanded for issue of a cheque of Rs 10 lakh relating to acquisition of land. Sethia and Mahananda were later to be forwarded to court.
