land, house allotment scam: AAP demands CBI probe

PNS

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday staged a dharna at the lower PMG here demanding a CBI inquiry into the irregularities in distributions of lands and houses in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

Members and supporters of the party also demanded immediate arrest of corrupt Ministers and other politicians and bureaucrats involved in the land and house allotment scam and the chit fund scam.

AAP Odisha convener Nishikant Mohapatra said the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD Government has surpassed all the previous records of corruption. The mining scam of Rs60,000 crore, the chit fund scam of Rs4,600 crore and the land allotment scam of Rs1,000 crore have not only resulted in huge losses to the State exchequer but have also deprived people of their legitimate right to basic needs, he added.

Mohapatra said the CBI raid on the houses of Mayurbhanj BJD MP Rama Chandra Hansdah and two former MlAs Subarna Naik (BJD) and Hitesh Kumar Bagartti (BJP) as founder directors of the Navadiganta Capital Services Pvt ltd and the surrender of two plots by BJD leader and Rajya Sabha member Kalpataru Das’ MlA son Pranab Balabantaray have only substantiated the fact that the BJD Government is patronising, protecting and promoting loot of the public money and resources.

“The Taskforce formed under the direction of the Chief Minister to probe the alleged land and house allotment scam is eyewash,” said Mohapatra and added that only a CBI probe could unearth the real story of corruption.
