The Madhumaya Panigrahi Foundation, which works for safeguarding traditional art, sports and culture, celebrated “Kumar Punei Jahna lo-2017” amid fanfare here on Thursday morning.
After Chandan-Kumkum-Arati, artist Satyanarayan Maharana and his associates performed an unique audio visual programme “Atithi Devo Bhava”. Then, foundation member Sudipta Panigrahi introduced the festival “Kumar Punei Jahna lo-2017”. Chief coordinator Prafulla Jagannath Padhi presided over the meeting where while revered of Uttarakasi saint Swami Ramaswarupananda, eminent film actress Binodini Devi and Maharastra Odiya Welfare Association president Bhagaban Panda graced as guests.
A Tripati Balaji Patra and Dr Mihir Kumar Tripathy introduced guests and told about cultural events, respectively.
All cultural programmes were anchored by Silpa Rath and Manoj Kumar Samal. Sankha Nada and his team of Narendrapur performed a traditional dance, Sushree Samhita staged Devi Abahani Nrutya choreographed by Archana Patra, national award winning dancer of Tamil Nadu Kavyalaskhmi Muralidharan staged Bharatinatyam Dance Odissi exponent from Kolkata Rina Jena and her troupe performed Odishi dance; Kalbeliya Dancer Alwar of Rajasthani Matadeen and troupe presented Rajasthani folk dance.
puchi naranga was performed by the sports winners of rural women sports competition held on September 24 at the Brahmapur stadium which was choreographed by Rinarani Sahu with music by Aswini Kumar Mahapatra and composer Manoranjan Padhy respectively. Krupasindhu Sahu, Pitabas Biswal, Purnna Chandra Sahu distributed the traditional “Kakara Pitha” to the audience and guests.
