IAS officer of the 1993 batch belonging to Andhra Pradesh, Movva Tirumala Krishna Babu, assumed additional charge of Chairman of the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) on Friday. Presently, Krishna Babu is serving as Chairman of the Visakhapatnam Port Trust.
He is also an Engineering Graduate. Prior to joining as the Visakhapatnam Port Trust Chairman he had served as Sub-Collector, Naraspur, West Godabari district, Municipal Commissioner, Guntur, Collector of Prakasam district, Managing Director of Markfed and district Collector of Kadapa, Chairman & Managing Director of Central Power Distribution Company of AP limited, Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, and Secretary, Infrastructure and Investment Department.
After assuming the office as the PPT Chairman, Krishna Babu held a meeting with the heads of the departments and other senior officers of the PPT followed by a site visit. During the interaction session, he expressed his happiness to join as the PPT Chairman and praised the PPT’s present performance in cargo handling.
While expressing his happiness over the port’s performance, he urged all officers and employees of the port to continue their best efforts for development of the port.
