PNS

The Trinamool Congress on Friday handed over a memorandum to Governor Dr SC Jamir demanding for a judicial probe into the Koraput minor gangrape case.

“Eleven days have passed since a Dalit Class IX girl was gang-raped by four miscreants in military outfit at Sorishapadara of Kunduli gram panchayat under Pattangi block in Koraput District. The Crime Branch, which operates under the Chief Minister’s Home Department, has failed to arrest even a single accused till date,” rued the memorandum.

The TMC said Odisha is shamed by the incident as it is no less than the Nirbhaya issue of New Delhi. The callousness of the State Government is clearly visible through the inaction by the authorities so far. In view of the above, we demand a judicial inquiry by a sitting Judge of the Orissa High Court into the matter,” the memorandum said.

TMC State chief Arya Kumar Jnanendra, secretary Vivekananda Patra, State respresetative linin lenka, Er Rabindra Mohanty and Santosh lenka were in the team. .
