A crusher unit owner in Bariniput under Jeypore Sadar Police limits received a death threat from Maoists.
According to police, two posters were found pasted near his crusher unit on Monday. Through the posters, the Maoists asked him to extend all types of cooperation to the rebel outfit. This apart, they also asked him to give them Rs 50 lakh as extortion money and warned him that he would be given death penalty if he did not fall in line.
The local police, meanwhile, have seized the posters and started an investigation. However, it is not yet clear whether the Maoists pasted the posters or someone else did it in their name.
