A youth had his head tonsured over a silly matter of failing to keep his promise on Saturday at Dobandha Idgha bazaar under Kendrapara block.
According to sources, as the chief guest did not come to grace the closing ceremony of a cricket tournament after giving his consent, a youth ,who had promised to bring the chief guest to the organisers of the tournament, got his head tonsured.
According to locals, the Dosti Cricket Committee of Dobandha Idgha bazaar organised its annual cricket tournament on January 24 at the local field .While Mamatarani Dhal, vice president of Kendrapara Zilla Parisad, inaugurated the cricket tournament, the local MlA was scheduled to be present as chief guest in the closing ceremony of the tournament on January 27.
But MlA Kishore Tarei denied to attend the tournament due to his busy schedule. As a result, the function was postponed to January 29.
Mohasin Khan assured the organizers that he would bring MlA Tarei to the function and in case he failed he would get his head tonsured.
However, due to some personal reason, the MlA too skipped to attend the ceremony on January 29. And, the organisers completed the closing ceremony with the help of other invitees.
Upset that he could not keep his promise, Khan got his head tonsured publicly.
