The Odisha Government had filed a case in the Supreme Court to resolve the border dispute with Andhra Pradesh relating to the Kotia group of 21 villages way back in 1968 and the case was finalised on March 3, 2006 with a stricture that both the States would maintain status quo till submission of reports by the Border Dispute Committee.
later, a review petition filed on August 29, 2006 and a curative petition filed on December 22, 2007 by the State Government were rejected by the Supreme Court. Revenue Minister Maheshwar Mohanty informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of Congress MlA Tara Prasad Bahinipati on Monday.
Bahinipati had wanted to know about steps taken by the State Government to resolve the Kotia dispute with AP.
