Following an order of the State level Scrutiny Committee (SlSC), the G Udayagiri police in Kandhamal district on Tuesday arrested ex-Army Sepoy Jafed Naik alias Pradhan (65), son of Dirsa Naik, of Ratingia village on the charge of using a false caste certificate.
He was serving in the Army producing the fake certificate. He was booked under Sections 420, 468 and 471 of Indian Penal Code and forwarded to court.
With the arrest of Jafed, the number of arrests in fake caste certificate cases in the district has increased to18.
