Panic gripped the residents of Pendurabadi village under the Digapahandi Forest Range in Ganjam district after a 10-feet-long King Cobra was found in a house in the locality on Thursday.
After spotting the reptile in the morning, the family members immediately called up the Snake Helpline. On receiving information, a team of the Snake Helpline
reached the spot and rescued the cobra.
The snake was later released into the Changudidei Reserve Forest.
The King Cobra might have entered the house in search of food on Wednesday night, said a forest official.
