Tension prevailed at the Vivekananda Hospital near Fire Station Square in Bhubaneswar on Saturday morning following the relatives of a deceased woman patient creating a ruckus alleging medical negligence in her treatment by the hospital staffs.
According to reports, Priyanka Patnaik of Mendhashal village had been admitted to the private hospital with a pain in her back. However, she succumbed soon after she was administered an injection, according to the family members.
Priyanka had married to a youth of the Barmunda area only12 days ago.
Alleging that Priyanka died due to administration of a wrong injection, family members and villagers of Mendhashal sat on a dharna and shouted slogans, demanding stringent action against the errant medical staffs. Jatni Congress MLA Suresh Chandra Routray took part in the protest.
On getting informed, the Nayapalli police rushed to the spot and pacified the irate relatives.
